Alex Curtin: I Remember - I Never Forgot
Solo Exhibition
Dates: March 14, 2025
Venue: Greenpoint Gallery, Brooklyn, NY
Medium: Stretched Denim Prints, photo, acrylic on canvas
Exhibition Overview
In "I Remember - I Never Forgot," Alex Curtin presents a powerful collection of stretched denim prints that weave together memory, resilience, and the unspoken. The tactile quality of denim—raw, durable, and familiar—serves as a fitting canvas for Curtin’s exploration of human narratives. Additionally rounding out the show are paintings that were created in the synthesis of memory and dream. From intimate small-scale works to commanding large pieces, this exhibition invites viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with our human stories.
About the Artist
Alex Curtin’s journey as an artist is one of transformation and tenacity. Born and based in Pennsylvania, his practice spans painting, photography, and denim-based works that resonate with raw emotional depth. The 2012 head injury that spurred his initial creative urgency has evolved into a mature, deliberate mission: to illuminate the overlooked and give voice to the resilient. Curtin’s work has been exhibited regionally and is gaining recognition for its bold materiality and narrative power. "I Remember - I Never Forgot" marks his first solo show in New York City, taking his place as an emerging force in contemporary art.
